DISPERSION

“Dispersion” is a choreographic performance proposal for a group of eight dancers, a crowd of onlookers and a territory.

This project asks how we invest the public space and how one human group organizes intuitively. The dancers provoke and use the public’s moving mass as a dramatic mechanism. The spatial organization is often challenged and the audience becomes witness, architecture and frontier of the performance. The dance is not spectacular where it is expected.

The dance arises from everywhere, sometimes very close, sometimes very far, sometimes behind or all around. All senses are stimulated and the audience can feel a puff of air moved by a dancer's racing around. The gap between the dancers and the audience will gradually disappear. At the end, the dance wraps around the onlookers whose eyes and body are constantly put back into play.
